Anger is Useful Energy

Drop the negative connotation to anger! What if this energy is Useful?

Can you remember a time when you were so angry that your energy was quadrupled, your senses heightened, your mind was present and nothing else mattered? Anger, when not misused, is the most useful energy to use for whatever you want to get done.

SO if anger makes you alert, focussed and energised, how can you use that to create something that you are passionate about?

What if that can become your new ‘norm’? Imagine the results when that ‘anger’ energy is channelled into your creations!

When anger is continually suppressed it leads to sadness and eventually depression. We are taught from a young age to not display anger (remember the terrible twos) as it’s not desirable and makes us uncomfortable. Sometimes, depending on parenting styles and personality types, showing any kind of ‘negative’ emotion is forbidden. No judgment here – it is not easy dealing with a tantruming child in the shop queue!

Try this: think of something that triggers you and makes you feel angry. Connect with that feeling in your stomach. You’re probably feeling a bit hot and your heartrate will elevate. Now think of something active you have been wanting to do. It can be something physical like cleaning the floor, weeding the garden or going to gym, or even creating a beautiful piece of artwork – or writing a report or a blogpost. Breathe that anger energy into the idea of the action until you’re roaring to go! And just do it!

My friend had a row with her husband and instead of shouting and screaming at him she got on her bicycle and cycled her best time ever! I’m not saying you need to be super sporty but imagine the possibilities!

And just think, all that suppressed anger building up inside could lead to ‘blind rage’ over a small incident where the rational part of our brain shuts down and we do hurtful, stupid and even dangerous things. Rather source the energy when not in that animalistic state and use it positively.

Give it a try and let me know what happens!

I’m amazed, I have to admit. Rarely do I come across a blog that’s both equally educative and amusing,
and without a doubt, you’ve hit the nail on the head. The
issue is something too few men and women are speaking intelligently about.
I am very happy that I came across this during my hunt for something relating to this.

Thank You! I have disadvantaged clients from broken family structures and sometimes violent backgrounds, who have made their choice to focus that anger energy into uplifting teenagers by coaching rugby and cricket. That happened BEFORE I coached them. Imagine the possibilities now!

You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but
I find this matter to be actually something which I think I would
never understand. It seems too complex and extremely broad for me.
I’m looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the hang
    of it!

HI…yes this is better explained with conversations and coaching – I know I am easier with the spoken and expressive word than the written!

Wonderful blog! I found it while searching on Yahoo News.
Do you have any tips on how to get listed in Yahoo News?
I’ve been trying for a while but I never seem to get there!

    Thanks

With havin so much content do you ever run into any problems of plagorism
or copyright infringement? My site has a lot of unique content I’ve either authored myself or outsourced but it appears a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my permission. Do you know any solutions to help reduce content from being stolen? I’d really appreciate it.

Hi…not sure how you would stop your content being stolen – I know I change the wording and also reference the author if I have kept it verbatim.
I would be very happy if anybody did the latter for me!

A motivating discussion is worth comment. I do believe that
you ought to write more about this issue, it might nott be a taboo matter but usually people do not talk about such subjects.
To the next! All the best!!
